The Story of Jesus

The story of Jesus as it appears in the gospels is well known, but when set into the actual background of life in those times it is even more illuminating. Life was hard, the people were living under Roman rule and the occupying power was easily offended. Nothing was easy for the fishermen and the carpenters, their work was back-breaking; but the land of Israel was truly a "land of milk and honey".
