FeedaRead author Sara Clark, who published her poetry collection "How to Destroy" with the press earlier in 2015, has just launched her debut novel "Summer's Lease". The book, a darkly comic meditation on mortality, loss, and the passage of time, was unveiled to the public at a well-attended event at Hawick Town Hall on October 11th. Hosted by Paul Wheelhouse MSP, the launch saw Sara read extracts from the book and talk about the process of writing it. Uniquely, the launch also saw Sara's husband, Thomas Clark, launch his own poetry collection, "Intae the Snaw".
It's been a fantastic 2015 so far for Sara. In addition to two books which have been published by FeedaRead, Sara also won first prize at the James Hogg Ballad awards, and was made writer in residence at the Damascus Drum Cafe in Hawick. As part of her residency, Sara will be writing a series of short stories set in the cafe which she will publish as an anthology in April 2016.
Reflecting on the book launch, Sara said "FeedaRead have been absolutely fantastic to work with from start to finish. Under intense pressure to have the book ready in time for the event, their courtesy, timeliness and attention to detail made painless what could easily have been a hugely stressful process. I can't say enough good things about their professionalism and the quality of their books, and I would highly recommend them to any writer."
