You set your own book price and the royalty that you will receive for each book sale before you publish during our simple publishing steps. FeedARead enables authors of all nationalities to receive considerably higher royalties for each book sale than the standard for author paperback royalties. Examples below for UK, US and Euros. Our paperback royalties are higher than the norm of the largest print-on-demand (POD) publishers and also higher than the norm for mainstream publishers. Print-on-demand (POD) is the process by which a bookstore quality paperback is printed and delivered each time a reader orders a copy. Book Distribution Channel Sales For sales of your book through bookseller distribution channels, the author will receive 80% of royalties and FeedARead will receive the remaining 20% after print costs and after the retailer - Amazon etc - take their ‘bookseller discount’. The bookseller discount is the amount a bookseller takes for all books in the book industry as their book profit for selling a book and is typically 30 to 60% of a book's retail price. So the author receives 80% after the above are deducted and FeedARead receives the remaining 20%.
UK Royalty Example Example royalties for a 200 page book at £7.99 book in bookseller distribution. You can set your book price and royalties higher if you wish when you publish and see the exact royalty according to your book size before you publish.
Book Price £7.99 minus bookseller discount minus print cost = £1.55 net royalty to the author per book sale via book sellers. For direct site sales bought through the FeedARead site the author receives £3.27 net royalty per book as there is no bookseller discount for these sales.
United States Royalty Example Example royalties for a 200 page book at $12.94 book in bookseller distribution. You can set your book price and royalties higher if you wish when you publish and see the exact royalty according to your book size before you publish.
Book Price $12.94 minus bookseller discount minus print cost = $2.89 net royalty to the author per book sale via book sellers. For direct site sales bought through the FeedARead site the author receives $5.51 net royalty per book as there is no bookseller discount for these sales.
Euro Royalty Example Example royalties for a 200 page book at €9.04 book in bookseller distribution. You can set your book price and royalties higher if you wish when you publish and see the exact royalty according to your book size before you publish.
Book Price €9.04 minus bookseller discount minus print cost = €1.66 net royalty to the author per book sale via book sellers, and €3.79 net royalty to the author for copies bought direct by readers from the feedaread website.
Copies bought direct from the FeedARead website have higher author net royalties as outlined above as there is no bookseller discount. The bookseller discount is as outlined above the amount a bookseller takes in the book industry as their profit for selling a book and is typically 30 to 60% of the book's retail price.
The royalty depends on your manuscript page count and you can access the royalty calculator once you upload your book manuscript as the system then knows your final page count.
These royalties ensure that you, the author, receive the majority of royalty profit from sales of your book.
