APPRECIATION OF MICHAEL'S MUM: A KIND AND GENTLE LADY
Elizabeth's son Michael did not think her life was remarkable but that she showed a generosity of spirit and that many people were indebted to her. Living all through the twentieth century she was worthy of appreciation. She first of all married Alfred Roberts and when their relationship came to an end brought their son up single-handed in her suburban home with help from her sister Elsie and her husband. With her second husband James Callcut she took up competitive dancing finishing up in finals at the Albert Hall. She coped well with Jimmy's declining eyesight and kept in touch with family and friends with letters and telephone conversations. During these later years she was aided practically and spiritually by the Evangelical Church in Market Harborough.
