Do You Believe In Miracles?
Do you believe in miracles? Eddie Ryan doesn't. If miracles could happen, his losing streak at the bookies would have ended a long time ago, and his life wouldn't be the miserable existence it now seems. A life that consists of gambling, then drowning his sorrows at the pub afterwards, with only the fortnightly inconvenience of a visit to the Job Centre to break up the routine slightly. But miracles are about to happen, and not in the way Eddie could ever have expected, when he meets a stranger called James. A stranger who appears to have the amazing gift of being able to pick winning horses at the bookies.
There are a lot of people like Eddie Ryan these days. People who aren't happy, and whose lives lack any meaning or fulfillment. Everyone has a reason why their lives haven't turned out as good as they would have liked. But, perhaps, no matter what happens, life doesn't have to be the struggle we think it is, and miracles can happen, not just to Eddie, but any one of us?
