Dream Tiger A young boy lies awake at night under the light of the stars. He is fantasizing about being a girl and soon they are asleep, deep within dreamtime, conjuring alternative realities to inhabit. The loosely connected stories explore the sometimes troubling nature of gender difference and its relationship with society. The characters are gender queer rather than transsexual and encounter situations where they have to endure the alienation that comes with transcending the boundaries of gender conformity. From an ice age awaking and on through the recent past into an uncertain future, the characters within these stories explore what it means to be trans, with all the contradictions and anxieties that gender difference brings.
