What do you do when your wife apparently commits suicide, then you realise you're suspected of her murder?
Matthew Rafford is a GP - a highly respected member of the community in a Yorkshire market town. At Christmas, the body of his wife, Margaret, is found at their home with a gunshot wound to her head.
As a police investigation is launched, it's clear that Matthew has something to hide. Meanwhile, his relationships with his children and his parents-in-law are starting to unravel.
