Two stories, unconnected but both set in east London, from the Thirties to the Sixties. 'Rainbows and Dreams' tells the story of Kathy, from shy schoolgirl to naive teenager, and finally to weary adulthood, struggling to provide for herself and her son; a son whose character has worrying echoes of his father. A father whom her mother despises, holding him responsible for all of Kathy's woes and spending the rest of her life longing for retribution. In her grandson Agness sees a potential avenger. In 'Some Kind of Angel' Matt Rogers is a likely lad growing up in east London. A likely lad with a highly unlikely friend. Prone to talking and acting before thinking, Matt tends to attract more than his fair share of trouble, some of it potentially lethal. With the help of Gerry he makes it to adulthood in one piece. But who - or what - is Gerry Redman?
