As a boy the author was twice bombed out of his home and strafed by enemy fighters. At 17 he joined the RAF as a Wop/AG where he encountered many adventurous, interesting, amusing and occasionally hazardous incidents.
The incentive for writing this book was frustration at his inability to obtain justice against the glory seeking actions of two senior officers who cause the unnecessary deaths of their crews. An Air Vice Marshal refused three direct orders to divert, he ignored them, crashed and killed four crew whilst he and his pilot ejected safely.
A Sqdn/Leader gave illegal orders to my aircrew resulting in there RAF Neptune crashing into the Mull of Kintyre. All were killed.
Both incidents were covered up by 50 year D Notices which have now expired.
In business, Hamlin discovered the waste of £Billions due to stupidity and criminal negligence or intent within Government departments. He clashed with authority that cared more for self gratification than the country.
