In a valley of a far northern Scottish island there lies a secret, a mystery that has haunted its inhabitants for centuries. After her father’s death, Deidre Hart learns that she has inherited Hart Croft, a small, dilapidated farm house on a remote Scottish island. When clearing out her father’s wardrobe she discovers an old battered briefcase containing a clue to a mystery, a hint of a secret hidden in the old farm house on the other side of the world. Escaping her grief, Deidre decides to investigate her family history and travels from Sydney, Australia to the Shetland Islands where she hears the tales of her ancestors who’d once lived in the isolated and now abandoned Erdin Valley, cursed and tormented by madness through the generations; and George Hart, her great-uncle and the last living person to have lived there. Deidre is advised to stay away from Hart Croft because strange things happen in that valley, but when Deidre meets Dylan, an Irish carpenter restoring an old croft on the island, they fall in love. But will Dylan’s love be enough to save Deidre from her family’s history and the curse of Erdin Valley? They warned her to be careful. Curses can be catching.
