Transference

Transference is a phenomenon characterized by the unconscious redirection of feelings from one person to another. It is often seen in serial killers where their unresolved rage is transferred towards previous hate-objects onto "surrogates", or individuals resembling or otherwise reminding them of the original object of that hate. A domineering, promiscuous mother and a need to punish her for a loveless childhood leads to a killing spree over many years. But just who is the killer ?
