Kaine Johnston is a super fit, twice decorated, ex. Royal Marine who left the navy after a serious disagreement with a senior officer,despite being exonerated at the enquiry. He spent two years in the North of Scotland writing a book about his experience. Because of the vast publicity surrounding his disciplinary a publisher is very interested in his book. From Scotland Kaine travels,in his catamaran. to a small village on the Welsh Coast, where he meets Karen, a beautiful artist who lives on a yacht owned by her dad. Kaine and Karen are drawn to each other but Karen's ex. an inanely possessive police officer (suspended for attacking Karen) decides to use his size to push Kaine aside. Kaine was a Sergeant Instructor in unarmed combat. Incensed by their son's humiliation, the family hatch a very clever plot to brand Kaine as a criminal. Kaine and Karen have to face a possible future where Kaine is unable to clear his name and Karen may not survive at all. The only hope the pair have of making a new life together may depend upon Kaines skill and experience as a Marine.
