What The Ashes Bring Forth
Is There No Help for the Widow's Son?
Harry Webster knows that meddling in a family’s business can spell trouble but it seems a simple enough job on the surface: find spoilt teenager Clive Dallas and the £20,000 he has stolen from his mother’s safe. Even though Clive has found himself some nasty friends to back him up it’s all in a morning’s work for Webster and Clive is back home for tea time. However, it seems he’s not the only problem son of the beautiful and wealthy Grace Dallas. Clive’s half-brother Tom is older, smarter and, since the tragic death of his fiancée, seemingly even more damaged than his whiny sibling. In finding out just how deep Tom Gordon’s pain goes Webster finds himself crossing swords with crooked public servants, an ageing criminal Godfather, bargain basement Hell’s Angels and a cunning killer bent on settling old scores and ruthlessly indifferent to the fate of anyone who gets in the way of his revenge. Along the way Webster will find out just how dangerous families can really be.
