About This Author

Born a Shropshire lad, Paul enjoyed a rewarding career in housing. He was Chief Executive of North Wales Housing for over fifteen years, was honoured to have been President of the Chartered Institute of Housing in 2007-08 and very flattered to have received the 2015 Outstanding Contribution to Housing in Wales Award. His commitment to housing and social justice continues as a board member at South Liverpool Homes, a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing governing board and a board member at New Leaf, supporting people across Cheshire into work and helping to unlock their potential. 'Outside Lola's' is Paul's debut novel. Set in Andalusia in the summer of 2018, the idea came from an incident that occurred on a holiday some seven years ago. At the time, the responsibilities of work restricted his writing to travel articles that appeared online under the guise of GuideBookGollum - a name given him by his brother-in-law on holiday after observing that he treated guide books "like the precious!" Now the story has been told and it's an uplifting, contemporary romantic comedy. Paul enjoyed the challenge of writing, researching and crafting the story and found the whole experience hugely gratifying.
