Profile: Lynette Creswell

Lynette was born in London, England and from the tender age of five she was raised by her grandmother and given books to help keep her quiet. Lynette found she had a passion for reading and subsequently started writing once she began school. Whilst at junior school Lynette's teacher was so impressed with her writing skills that her stories were often read out to her classmates and her teacher told Lynette that she should try to develop her writing ability further. Lynette never got the chance but once she married and had children she began writing bedtime tales for her young sons. Lynette's husband was so impressed with her ability to capture their imaginations that he encouraged her love of writing by buying her a in the hope she would write something more substantial. So with a little push in the right direction, Lynette decided her first novel would be something that all children love to read about (and some adults too) - magic! Lynette's inspiration came from several writers, firstly from childhood books written by Enid Blyton. ‘The Enchanted Wood’ and ‘The Faraway Tree’ were her first real taste of fantasy and later on Stephanie Meyer’s ‘Twilight Series’ captured her own vivid imagination. Her first novel, 'Sinners of Magic' was published in 2012 and still receives outstanding reviews. 'Betrayers of Magic' became the second book of the trilogy published in 2013 and last but my no means least, ‘Defenders of Magic’ will be the final chapter of this magical saga and should be out to buy in December 2013.
