Andrew Oakes, a poorly educated 88 years old. I didn’t pass the 11 plus exam at 15 when I left school. Because of eye problems and enduring the 6 years of war. I left school barely able to read and unable to write. I never learned how to join letter in free hand writing. I still PRINT, if I need to write. I was in my 60s when I got my first computer. Wow! What a miraculous invention: It changed my life. I could slowly type with one finger, and with the aid of the spellchecker, I could write. The sheer joy of being able to write encourage me to write as a hobby. Over the last 20 years I have completed two full sized paperback novels. My wife and I are spiritualist, so my first story was about a spiritualist medium. I had it printed by FeedARead . . . Only for my family and friends. It was enjoyed by all, and I even had an encouraging compliment of being told that I am a writer. I took up the challenge of writing something completely different, something probably unique? I defied all the writing advice of how to write. I am not a well-read, educated author. I am a story teller, who never plans the plot. I write as it comes to me chapter by chapter. The characters in the story, by their actions and their dialogue, they direct the story and what comes next. I simply write it down. I am a slow writer: this erotic romance will be my last. I will enjoy the last few years of my life amazed at what I have achieve;. From an uneducated school leaver, to an author of two books. It doesn’t matter how badly written. I am proud of my efforts.
