Profile: Myra Duffy

About This Author

Author Myra Duffy writes both fiction and non-fiction and has had short stories published in a variety of magazines and journals: her first success was winning a national writing competition at the age of thirteen. Myra divides her time between Glasgow and the Isle of Bute and has family connections to the island stretching back several generations. She says, ‘The Isle of Bute provides inspiration because it offers a ‘contained’ setting for what happens in my ‘cosy crime’ novels though I do make sure readers understand it is all fiction. I frequently highlight the many beautiful locations on the island - it’s far from being the hotbed of crime my novels suggest.’ ‘Bad Blood at Rothesay Castle’ is the latest in the Isle of Bute Mystery series. ‘The House at Ettrick Bay’, ‘Last Ferry to Bute’, ‘Last Dance at the Rothesay Pavilion’, ‘Endgame at Port Bannatyne’ and ‘Grave Matters at St Blane’s’ and ‘Death at the Kyles of Bute’ are the earlier novels in the series while ‘When Old Ghosts Meet’ and ‘Susie’s Story’ also have a Bute connection.
