I was born in Liverpool in 1966 and grew up in the Kensington area of the city. I am married to Ann and have a son, Michael. I have worked for Liverpool City Council for over 20 years and have been writing most of my life. My inspiration for 'A Gift from Rupert Drive' was receiving the actual chain letter myself, but rather than send it on I started to think about who could possibly pick the letter up at the other end and the character Joey Preston was born!
