Profile: Kit Domino

About This Author

Kit Domino grew up in West London, England during the 1950s and 1960s, in the areas and places she so vividly brings to life in Every Step of The Way, and can well remember the pea-soupers dominating much of her early childhood. Moving to Gloucestershire in 1972, she still resides there with her husband. She has a daughter and two grandchildren. Unlike her character Beth Brixham in Every Step of The Way, Kit loves the West County and does not miss London in the least, and has no intention of moving back. A trained secretary, her working career has always involved books, copy-editing, proofreading and typesetting, and for 10 years ran her own word-processing agency. During this time she began writing her first novel as well as poetry, several of which were published. Becoming office manager and company proofreader for a large planning consultancy near Bristol, she continued to write in her spare time. In 2004, she was shortlisted for the Harry Bowling Prize for a London novel with Every Step of the Way. Fifteen years later, following redundancy in December 2010, the time proved right to fulfil her dream of being a published author, having already written five books in various genres, with another under way. Not content with writing, Kit is also an accomplished internationally-selling artist.
