About This Author

Marjorie Quarton lives in Co Tipperary Ireland, where she works for an Irish charity and writes books and articles. Her father, Standish Smithwick fought all through the First World War and Marjorie used his letters and papers when she wrote this book. She has written fifteen published books in all. One of them, Breakfast the Night Before, is the story of her life and tells how she used to buy army and police horses to go to England, Switzerland and other countries. She also bred Border Collies for many years and has written books about them. One of them, One Dog and His Man was her first book, back in 1984. Marjorie also edits and researches books for other writers.
