Jeremy’s career in book publishing included the positions of Publicity Director and Marketing Director of the British publisher, Hutchinson. During that time, he worked with Anthony Burgess, Jonathan Miller, Kingsley Amis, Peter Ackroyd, Norman Mailer, Arthur Koestler, Alex Haley, Andy Warhol, (a book of his photographs), Frederick Forsyth, Len Deighton, Roget Vadim (who discovered Brigitte Bardot), the poets, Dannie Abse and Pam Ayres, Michael Parkinson, George Best (Parkinson wrote his biography), Bernard Levin, Claire Rayner, the scientists, Steve Jones and Stephen Rose, the pioneering heart surgeon, Christiaan Barnard and the political philosopher, Ziauddin Sardar. He came to know Jonathan Miller when they co-created the bestselling pop-up book, The Human Body, with the award-winning designer, David Pelham. He subsequently became the co-founder and publisher of Icon Books, which publish the famous Introducing Guides, graphic guides to the key figures in science, psychology, philosophy, economics, politics and cultural studies. While there, he commissioned Zia Sardar’s, Why do People Hate America, which became an international bestseller. It was Anthony Burgess who inspired Jeremy to write his first novel, The Girl in the Stone Coffin after he spent a summer holiday in Anthony’s home in the south of France. He followed this with The Burial Chamber, a thriller set in early 19th century London. Jeremy now writes full-time in his North London home, which he shares with his wife, Rosie.
