Profile: Judith Almond

About This Author

Judith spent her early life in Yorkshire, and continues to spend time there. After qualifying as a librarian she worked as a volunteer in Sri Lanka. On her return, she completed a course in social work, and worked at the University of London advising overseas students. She gained a degree from the Open University. She then moved into staff development and training, obtained a higher degree in university management, and was for several years Head of Staff Development at UCL. As Judith Taylor, she wrote several books on aspects of careers and training. She has written fiction since childhood, and has had a number of short stories published. More recently she completed the Certificate in Creative Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London, and is a active member of the Writers’ Block, a supportive writing group. Besides reading and writing, she enjoys travel, art, theatre and history, and is a volunteer at the British Museum. She continues to support VSO by assessing candidates as a volunteer selector. She is married and lives with her husband in London and Kent.
