Profile: Grace Jolliffe

Grace Jolliffe lives in Galway, Ireland. Her home is on the Wild Atlantic Way route and this provides the location and inspiration for her Ballyyahoo series of children's books. Grace was a regular writer on RTE's Fiction Fifteen, which was a very popular children's radio show in Ireland. In addition to writing for children, she has also written and directed documentary, as well as several short films, two of which won a Best Irish Drama Jesuit Award and a Manchester Film Festival Award. Grace's also writes fiction for adults and her crime/thriller novel, 'Piggy Monk Square,' was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers Prize, optioned for film by Willy Russell, and broadcast on RTE Radio One in Ireland as part of its Book On One series. Grace loves walking and gardening and her love of nature inspired her Ballyyahoo series of children's stories.
