Thelma Perkins Born in Birmingham UK during the 2nd world war, to a Jewish mother & Trinidadian father. (Ernest Mckenzie-Mavinga.) Thelma trained as a nurse, then later moved into teaching after studying for a Bachelor of Education degree. 1994 saw the publication of "In Search of Mr McKenzie" (The Women’s Press,) which she co-wrote with her sister. Other publications include a story for children "Wishing on a Wooden Spoon". (Mantra Publishing,) several short stories included in anthologies and her first novel “Roundabouts” (Mango publishing.) Married with 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grand children Thelma who is also a story teller has now retired she divides her time between London and Tobago She continues to write for both children & adults.
