Judy Vero is a writer and local historian,living in Warwickshire, UK, the area which inspires her work. The idea for a novel on hat making in the 18th century came whilst researching her previous books, 'Warwickshire Hatters' (1989), and 'A Concern in Trade: Hatting and the Bracebridges of Atherstone 1612-1872' (1995).
