A shot at Mayor
Salford is one of the few cities in England that has the privilege of electing its own Mayor. It happened in 2012 - the first time in the city's 800 years of existence - and now it is due to happen again, 2016. The first elected Mayor, Donal Cameron, is standing down and is keen to see his chosen successor, Sol Senate, take his place. But there are other preferences, other choices, and Mr Cameron finds it increasingly difficult to control his Council and his town. Meanwhile, Melia, who has been given the task of protecting politicians locally, has been completely driven off track by the kidnapping of her boyfriend, Mickey. That wouldn't be so bad, but her cousin Liv has lost a lodger and been charged with murder. How much more pressure can Melia take? And who can she turn to, now most of her usual supporters are completely out of action?
