After Thought
In this new edition of collected poems which span from religious and faith based themes to a new arena of romantic poems, 'After Thought' explores and draws heavily upon the rich tapestry and influence of various poets in particular Seamus Heaney and W.H. Auden. Three themes are strongly strung out in this collection, namely the intricate beauty of the Christian faith, cultural themes and finally a dedication to personal love related poems.
The reader should hopefully enjoy a rich selection of ideas and imagery that will open the them to a world of beauty, deep seated cultural concepts and romantic prose. Drawing from the first edition of 'Poems for Modern Ireland,' 'After Thought' seeks to delve deeper, expand and continue the rediscovery of our identity as a nation, people of faith and the exploring the immense joy of love.
"In the desert of the heart
Let the healing fountain start,
In the prison of his days
Teach the free man how to praise."
