Misfits in Gilead

The Fellowship of Gilead expects its members to accept without question all the doctrines and practices of the Fellowship. Teenager Laura Dagnall, like her late dad, will make up her own mind about what she will believe and how she will live her life. And like her late dad, she is curious to uncover the story of Owen Shafto. Shafto, it appears, wants to gain status and recognition for himself within Gilead. But he also has plans to bring about reform from within. As Laura’s investigations bring her nearer to Shafto, she discovers yet more misfits with whom he is associated. But who are these people? Indeed, are they in fact real? And when Shafto disappears before finishing his story, is that the end of his scheming? Or will he maybe pop up somewhere else?
