No Time for Dances
RAF Kelderby, in 1943, is already facing appalling losses when three young men join the fragmented crew of Lancaster Bomber, J-Java: Kass Kowalski, their Polish Skipper - a man with a shadowy past, their misfit Aussie Flight Engineer John McShane and, fugitive from Birmingham’s Blitz, the one-time actor Tom Hathaway.
The past becomes interwoven with the present in the daily fight against fear, laying bare tangled relationships, vain regrets and glimpses of a future statistically non-existent. A succession of determined young women pass through Kelderby’s gates, perhaps creating havoc but certainly changing lives. The story culminates in one fateful, final flight….
