South of the River and Other Tales is a collection of short stories set in and around Deptford in South London over many centuries. There are stories of intrigue and horror, comedy and farce, adventure and return, where history and the present meet. Some of the characters are famous and some are the forgotten people whose tales are told here, on the banks on the banks of the Thames.
