About This Author

Edward John ('Eddie') Crockett was born in Scotland and educated at the universities of Aberdeen, Dijon, Paris, Heidelberg and Zürich. Following a lengthy spell as a university lecturer, he went on to author, edit and co-publish a range of specialist business journals prior to moving into full-time media consultancy and international public affairs on behalf of corporate clients, philanthropic organisations in Europe and North America, and major supranational institutions such as the European Parliament and UNESCO. Eddie is fluent in several European languages and has been a guest lecturer at various European and international institutes of higher learning. Not least, he is a translator/editor of major sports biographies (Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Muhammad Ali) and diverse publications on art history (De Chirico, Raphaël, The Venetian School), cinema (Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford), European Union issues and lifestyle subjects ranging from gastronomy to snowboarding and from oriental carpets to kitesurfing ... His interests include travel, food and drink, all sports (other than cricket), cinema, jazz ancient and modern, biography and - inevitably - quality historical fiction.
