A Harbinger of Harmony

The novel depicts the life and mission of Sharif Saheb of Shishunal in South India who successfully combined the philosophical doctrines of Virasaivism, Brahmanism and Islam and preached a synthesized philosophy of life to the people around him. Although a Muslim by birth, he was instructed by a Brahmin teacher, Govinda Bhatta in philosophy. Having acquired occult powers he went on reforming the society by preaching the communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims.The ideal of Hindu-Muslim unity is of utmost importance and relevance to India in particular and to the larger world outside India.
