Apache Reign II
Paul Castle is a painter and decorator during weekdays; it is a job he quite likes, especially the banter he has with his partner Septimus Kerfoot, but it is the weekends that he really looks forward to. Because that is when he is ‘Stokesay’ Castle — lead guitarist with local heavy-rock band, Apache Reign.
The band get a break when they are chosen as support for the Purple Gnomes on a tour of the East Midlands, but as they play Heanor and Skegness, Stokesay can only dream of playing in front of screaming fans in places like New York and San Francisco. One consolation however, is that after one gig he meets the enigmatic Helen Burton, a woman he soon falls head-over-heels for.
During a concert in Fairborough, Beau Chappel is spotted — he is the lead guitarist with world-famous rock band, The Major Goosebumps. What is he doing in a dump like that? Why does he take Stokesay to one-side? And why does he arrange to meet him later in secret?
