Some people think their lives are predestined and there is nothing they can do to change it. For others life is a blank page, the next second yet to be written. Historians chart how major events change the course of history and alter the shape of nations, but for most people the whole course of their lives can change by something seemingly trivial. This can be the toss of a coin, a wrong turn, the right word in the right place — or the wrong word in the wrong place. For Ritchie Kirk two seemingly inconsequential events on the same day not only changed his life, but that of a myriad of people around him; some for the better, some for the worse.
