DREAMS AND ORANGES
Chester Hanley is a 95-year old Missourian who has been diagnosed with two brain tumours, one malignant and the other benign. He appreciates his time on earth is limited to no more than a month and so, decides to write the story of his interesting life.
When he was born in March of 1907, a family friend gives the Hanleys a small orange bush which never carries more than two fruit at a time. Chester discovers that the eating of these fruit (sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter) bring on dreams which portray future events. He, the Dreamer, can never profit directly from what the dreams tell him, and if he does, tragedy will enter his life.
He becomes a successful author by strange means, those means being that his writing appears during his night's slumber, but written in his hand.
Sadness and tragedy do strike the Hanley family but tempered with happiness throughout the years.
Many varied characters pass through his unusual life, making the whole a landscape of every human emotion.
