Sunrise at Midnight

The novel tells the story of Tom Mura, a young teacher, poet, novelist and short story writer whose knowledge, skill, selflessness, moral and ethical values raise him into the stature of the light of Kibogo (an imaginary country in Africa) in the midst of a terrible darkness. The darkness is seen in such evil as mob justice, corruption, sex discrimination, domestic violence, oppression, exploitation, ignorance, break down of Rule of Law, and generally moral decadence. Tom Mura's rise and condemnation of the evils of his society bring him against the leadership of the country who have flourished on evil, power struggles . and incompetence. They fear to be exposed so they arrest him.The people go to the streets to demand for Tom Mura's release and generally for change. The story is decorated with a lot of humor, irony, juxtaposition, description, interesting life-like characters and love relations that are almost eternal.
