Wittering in the Wold (A Diary of Chaos in the Countryside)is a literary farce, it is a book to cheer the reader. If you can suspend belief and imagine an artist, a model who can hardly keep her clothes on, a Vicar, and a village of eccentric inhabitants you are beginning to get the picture. Place this village close to another that has become desirable to commuters and is now inhabited largely by accountants, bankers, and estate agents etc. and you have a recipe for disaster - or laughter.
