About This Author

My nom-de-plume is CAROLYN DEE, a version of my previous name, originally derived during my ten year acting experience in a local theatre company, in my home town of Kingston Upon Hull. I was born in the early 1950's, one of seven children, and enjoyed an idyllic childhood living in a village on the banks of a river in East Yorkshire. Throughout my working life I had a variety of extremely interesting jobs of work, which included running a market stall, a receptionist for a private detective and finally a Cardiographer in a West Country hospital. These varied and interesting experiences have given me plenty of scope with which to work! I have two daughters, three grandchildren and a 'long-suffering paper widower' husband! I am now retired but often wonder how I had the time to go to work at all, there are simply not enough 'writing' hours in a day! I have always loved books, the smell, the feel and the magic they hold within, and for years felt that I had a book within me but didn't have the confidence to attempt such a feat. However six years ago, and with some persuasion from my husband, I plucked up the courage to write but then found I couldn't stop. Up to date I have three published books, two finished manuscripts and a sixth which I am in the process of writing. I also write poetry which is usually humorous, a gift I have inherited from my 'poetry-published' mother. I never know from the start which path my writing will take and sometimes I have even surprised myself! I lose myself in my writing which I thoroughly enjoy, and I sincerely hope that you find some of that enjoyment when you read one of my books. My very best wishes to you, my reader.
