About This Author

My interest in writing for publication, albeit as an amateur, originates from the point when I joined the Warminster Writers' Circle some twenty-odd years ago. To be fair, for several years my participation was confined to the internal competitions for short stories, until eventually I succeeded with a short story about Julia. Writing more short stories about this delightful lady concluded with the publication of my first book, 'Just Julia'. Then again a short story ended up as a novel, 'Overheard in the Coffee Shop'. A little later with a fit of conscience I produced 'Wooden dolls and drunken hedgehogs', extracts from my old diaries with the most attractive pen and ink drawings by my daughte, twenty years previous! By now I had fully retired. Writing took a back seat as I was making and marketing inlaid wooden games with great success. 'Lilian' became my fourth novel - a fictional story built around the real life of the actress in the world of Nazi Germany. This year, my eighty-first, has been an emotional one for my family as I was diagnosed with a form of cancer. But, treatment is going well and it hasn't stopped me producing my fifth book - the emphasis being on humour - 'Welcome to DROPDOWN knickers!. Undaunted I am now well into my sixth book, which I would like to finish this year!
