Profile: Wally Smith

About This Author

I was born and educated in Liverpool but moved south to start work which kept me occupied for the next forty three years until my retirement in 2011 when I was able to concentrate more on my writing. I was a member of Slough Writers for a number of years which encouraged me to venture into playwriting, three of which are published on the Lazy Bee website - www.lazybeescripts.co.uk. and have been performed in various venues both in this country and abroad. I have always written in one form or another since an early age and my first novel, The Intricate Soul, started out as a short story which won first prize in a competition. I have written a second novel, Empirical Evidence, an extract of which can be found on my website www.wallysmith.co.uk, and have published a third, Shelf Life. All of these are available from Amazon.com. I moved to Suffolk in 2016 and have had some of my plays performed at the annual INK Festival at The Cut arts centre in Halesworth. I am a now a member of Cutting Edge Writers, although meetings during the pandemic are now conducted via ZOOM. My fourth novel, The Night Cleaner's Guide to Buddhism, has been serialised on my blog: www.silverscouse.wordpress.com.
