Profile: Elaine Hankin

About This Author

Elaine Hankin is the freelance author of six novels and one book of short stories. In 2001 she won first prize in 'Writing Magazine's' novel mss competition and she has won a number of prizes for short stories. Elaine turned her hand to writing after working in Switzerland and Italy and she has integrated many of her experiences abroad, and the characters she met there, into her novels. She currently lives in West Sussex between the South Downs and the sea, an ideal spot for taking leisurely walks, during which ideas take shape. Besides writing, she enjoys dancing, studying Italian and Spanish and going to the theatre. Elaine runs Sea Scribes, a friendly writing group, which has been running for nearly ten years.
