About This Author
Christine Jayne Betts was born in Luton Bedfordshire on 28th August 1956. I have four brothers, no sisters. I was actually born in a male body, and knew for most of my life that there was something really wrong with the person I looked at in the mirror.
Most of my life has been a struggle to survive, on low wages, but there have been some high points, like the births of my two daughters Amy 28 and Samantha 26. I have three grandchildren through Amy, who is married to a guy called Kirk.
I began the transition from being male to becoming female in the early 1990s, and attended the GIC at Charing Cross hospital, all leading up to the sex reassignment operation, that took place in February of 2002.
I tend not to look back, but forward, in the faint hope that somehow, just something will go right for me, and that I will finally have a chance to have the life that my commitment to my family, and the struggle to keep the bills paid a car on the road etc., has thus far deprived me of, and there’s just one commodity that I need for that....money.
I wrote the books based on the fantasies that I used to protect myself from the rigours of life. You could say that I have been a kind of Walter Mitty character, wrapped up in daydreams of what life could be like if only...
