About This Author

A CRYING GAME: Diary of a Battered Wife, published in 1984 under JANINE TURNER, was the first book of its kind in the UK. Media interviews followed including Breakfast TV, chat shows, radio phone-ins, discussion programmes, etc. In response to hundreds of readers’ letters I founded LIFELINE, a national registered charity supporting families in abuse, which I directed for 10 years. Thorsons (now HarperCollins) commissioned two further books - 'Home is Where the Hurt Is', about surviving child sexual abuse, & an advice book: 'Behind Closed Doors'. Under JANINE HARRINGTON I have updated the previous three books mentioned, and also have a further 20 books published in various genres - fantasy, children's, biography, aviation, thrillers, personal experiences ... using my PhD in Life! I also have 12 booklets published as a Norfolk Airfield series each offering the history and stories of a base used by Squadrons of RAF 100 Group during WWII. A fascinating and intriguing collection for any avid Aviation enthusiast! As a founding member and Secretary of the worldwide RAF 100 Group Association it is my privilege and pleasure these past 20 years and more to have worked with and supported veterans and their families of this secret group. During WWII, they flew under RAF Bomber Command, its main task being to identify and jam enemy Radar, using special and experimental equipment on board their aircraft. They also picked up and dropped agents into enemy territory and worked with the Resistance. I am also Editor of their quarterly magazine: 'Confound & Destroy'. Home is by the sea. I have one daughter, a free spirit who travels the world.
