How to .. View Author Feedback on Publishing and Print Quality
Click Author Testimonials at the top of our homepage to view extensive feedback from site authors on their publishing experience and the quality of their books.

How to .. Begin Publishing your Book in Simple Steps
Join our site and login then click the Create a Book button on your book page to proceed through the self-enabling publishing steps.   The system guides you through the simple steps, including adding your book details, your manuscript and creating a book cover on our simple cover creator, to setting price and viewing royalties.  Once you submit your book it usually takes about 10 to 14 days for us to process so that ready for print.

Each time you login you can click Edit next to your Book Title to continue and complete the publishing steps in your own time.

How to .. Choose Book Type and Size On the Book Size/Type publishing step click to choose your preferred book size and type.  We currently publish at 5 inch wide x 8 inch high, and 6 inch wide x 9 inch high. For higher page count books consider  6 inch wide x 9 inch  wide as the larger the book size the lower the print cost.

* Important – Choosing your Book Size Carefully:  We recommend to consider your preferred book size carefully, if you change your mind later you will need to set up your book again as the system configures your book to the size you select for the publishing steps.  It doesn’t take too long to start again but choosing carefully initially helps save you time.

Book Cover types  In the Book Type selection step you can select a  matte or gloss cover. Matte covers are not shiny or glossy, gloss covers have a stylish shiny effect.

Manuscript Printing - Black & White   We currently enable black and white manuscript printing only, but will be adding color manuscript printing in the coming months and will alert members once added.

Printing Paper Type You can  select from crème or white printing paper for your Book Interior. Crème paper is more the typical norm for novels.

You can add a Pen Name pseudonym for your book if you choose on the book details step when publishing.  If you want your membership account to be in your Pen Name too then add your Pen Name when joining, or login and click My Account Details on the left menu to add your Pen Name there and click Save.

How .. Booksellers and Amazon sell POD books including book stocking
Print on Demand (POD) was set up as a non-stock model meaning that POD that books are printed as and when an order is received rather than as a stock model.   Our printers, established since 1997, usually supply Amazon in 2 working days once Amazon order.

Amazon list a book-buy button on the right of a book’s page so the book can be ordered.

Amazon and stock  Amazon, on occasion, may buy a small stock of a POD book even though POD is a non-stock model, buying stock in advance of sale can mean Amazon taking risk in advance of sale for up to millions of POD titles.   Therefore they more usually do not stock but still enable books to be ordered any time as above.

How ..  Book Printing Works and Timelines for Printing and Delivery
Books our Print-on-Demand (POD) and once an order is received books are printed on our print line  - usually this takes 5 to 7 working days for paperbacks, and 12 to 18 days for hardbacks before shipping unless otherwise stated on the order page, for example for peak printing periods like Christmas

For Amazon, our printers usually supply Amazon within 2 working days once an order is received from Amazon. View the next point below for further information.

Some countries may take additional delivery time as the printers are based in the US, UK and Australia so it is always advisable to allow extra time for international delivery and all orders.

If your order hasn’t arrived after 10 working days please email
theteam@feedaread.com and we will check details for you.

How .. Amazon enables book resellers for books

Amazon enables resellers for all books on their site on each book’s page on Amazon.

Amazon book resellers will usually not hold stock of POD books – as POD is a non-stock model as outlined in the points above – and so resellers usually source a copy from our printers if they receive an order on Amazon. Ensuring the author always get their royalty for copies ordered and printed through our printers.  Books are RRP (Recommended Retail Price) in the book industry so book resellers may list at different prices but readers will of course opt for the most economic price where available.

How to ..  Ensure your Book is kept on sale at booksellers - Annual Distribution
Ensure your book is kept in annual distribution and for sale on booksellers by clicking the Books in Distribution link on left menu of our site when logged in.  This displays when your annual distribution expires and you can renew at any time leading up to the expiry dates.  The printers charge us to keep books in distribution annually which we in turn charge at cost only.

Our system sends you an email before a book’s distribution expires as a reminder.  Recommend to ensure that mail from us isn’t filtered by your email provider to ensure you receive notifications.

After checking the following first and you are certain the issue is a print issue please email a couple of images of affected pages with the page numbers and issue shown in the images to theteam@feedaread.com so we can refer to the printers print line to examine.  Also please email the book print batch number which is on the bottom left of the last printed interior page of the book.  We’ll then expedite with the printers to examine and get back to you as soon as we hear further from them regarding replacement as applicable.

Text ‘runs off’ page:    If there is text in your printed book that ‘runs off’ the page - e.g. not all your text is correctly on the page - then first double-check the manuscript you approved for printing by logging and clicking View next to your published book title. Then click View next to Book Interior to view the manuscript PDF you approved to ensure the issue is not present in the manuscript rather than the printed book.  If the case, you can then click Revise/Edit next to your book if the case that the issue is with the manuscript rather than the printed book.  Then click view/change next to Book Interior and upload a manuscript with corrected margins.  Complete submitting the Revision by clicking the Review and Publish button at the top of your book page.

To cancel a book including its distribution, please email us at theteam@feedaread.com

 * Important Note:  Please note that once a book is cancelled then it will no longer be available for print and booksellers will not be able to order.  Some booksellers such as Amazon will usually continue to list a book even if cancelled according to their own separate company policies because they enable resellers for all books on their site, and also sometimes hold a small stock of books they bought before cancellation for books to enable quick delivery which they will be entitled to sell.

This applies to how they work with all publishers’ books, and you could contact them as the copyright holder to inform them the book is cancelled if your book(s) are in distribution.  We do not control other booksellers sites such as Amazon re their own policies in this respect.
