The first in a trilogy. This is the background to the story of NEWTH, and the rise of Joanne from lowly house maid to a powerful woman commanding the gifts of telepathy and telekinesis. She has the help of Alec, her Pathosian grandfather nineteen times removed. They discover a plot that if left to come to fruition will lead to theirs and mankind's downfall.
