ONE MORE CHANCE
We are introduced to the story by seeing Sally and Jenny on their way to Malta. It becomes obvious that there’s more behind this trip than pleasure.
Sally tells Jenny that she’ll not be going home with her. Jenny thinks she’s taken leave of her senses.
In the end, Jenny flies home alone, promising Sally she’ll not tell Ben, Sally’s husband where she is. Ben visits Jenny’s. He’s initially all sweetness and light. Jenny nearly relents and tells him what he wants to know. He suddenly changes and beats her up.
Sally befriends Felicity and eventually moves into her place. Felicity misunderstands Sally and makes a pass at her. Sally reels with shock at the implication of this and moves out.
Sally is finally convinced to seek a divorce from Ben. He comes to Malta to seek her out. He beats her up whilst raping her. George finds her in this mess.
Ben stays on the island and flashes his money around, in a not very salubrious bar, and ends up being killed for his money.
Sally gets frustrated that a romance isn’t developing between her and George. But with a little push it does finally blossom.
