Those who Trailed the Frontier

The mountain men, trappers and fur traders were all frontiersmen of the Great American West. They led a life that was at times dangerous, arduous, and in the wrong kind of weather, downright miserable. The lives of many of these Frontiersmen was drastically cut short ending in violent deaths. Indian attacks, or encounters with wildlife such as grizzly bears and wolves who did not fear man in those long drawn-out days. They could perish being drowned; starvation could take them, and they could even perish in a hole they dug to collect gold during a collapse. But in spite of the dangers they still came to the wilderness, drawn by the money they could make, disregarding the dangers they were all very much aware of.
