Fun With Words, Fun With Noise

I was in a library and I heard a group of small children chanting simple rhymes, clapping their hands in rhythm and laughing when they had finished each little poem or song. Pure joy. A perfect example of words, rhyme and noise bound together as the most wonderful of playthings. The mother of each child was getting involved too. This book contains little poems to be read aloud, shouted aloud, sung aloud by individual children or groups of children. It is particularly suitable for Key Stage 1, up to 7-year-olds, but I’m sure other ages would enjoy it too. They are simple little noise poems that follow a five-line pattern. There are lots of opportunities for obvious actions as part of the fun. It is ideal interactive material for parents, teachers, playgroup leaders, etc. Go on, have fun with words and fun with noise. Examples: SAYING HELLO POEM Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, Hi, hi, hi, Hi, hi, hi, Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi. SNEEZE POEM A-a-a-a-choo, A-a-a-a-choo, A-a-choo, A-a-choo, A-a-a-a-choo. CAR HORN POEM Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, Beep, beep, beep, Beep, beep, beep, Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. CHATTY POEM Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Blah, blah, blah, Blah, blah, blah, Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
