One Blustery Spring Day
Sitting across the desk from Mr Townsend the solicitor, Julia Bransgrave was in shock. She had just been told she had inherited the considerable estate of her great aunt Matilda Brown. "What shall I do with it?" Julia asked. "You could live in it." Oliver Townsend suggested. In the event Julia decided to sell the estate, that was until she fell in love with a cherry tree. During the following five years Julia had her life threatened, mainly by her estate manager Giles Brewster, and turned her hand to amateur detective work. There was also Christian Hansen an architect who owned Laburnham Cottage on the estate, whom Julia befriended. The Townsend family took Julia under their wing which included Oliver's parents and his daughter Ferne.
