The Summer that Never Happened
When Emma Hayworth lay down on a grassy bank beside the canal, and drifted into sleep, she had no idea that on waking she would find herself in Victorian England, and her life was about to change forever.
Emma found herself facing her Great Grandfather at the age of five and his parents. They were working on the Grand Union Canal where life was hard due to the introduction of the railways.
Emma also comes into contact with Doctor Robert Astley, who is helping the canal people in the Victorian era with their health problems. He has his suspicions Emma does not belong in the 19th century.
Eventually, Emma and Robert become engaged to be married, but Emma's world is turned upside down when Robert suddenly leaves one Sunday at the end of summer without prior warning or explanation.
During that summer Emma, Robert and Emma's family become involved in mishaps, dramas, and adventures. However, was that summer a dream or reality?
